Afternoon Debate

Regular 'debates' happen at the end of each day - all part of a monk's education at Sera Monastery; founded in 1419, it's around 5k north of the Jokhang Temple in Lhasa. In 1959, Sera was home to more than 5,000 monks. Although badly damaged, it's still in reasonable condition and home to now, only a few hundred Buddhist monks
